'The first fairytales were feminist critiques of patriarchy'

This is a really interesting article about the origins of many fairytales, that we so often attribute to well-known, male, collectors of tales. I particularly like how the women described in this article created stories to navigate the constrictions in their lives - something we all do, even if not consciously. I will definitely buy this book about Marie Catherine d’Aulnoy and post a review when I do!
